Since its founding in July 1994,Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation has been operating passenger transport service on the Taipei Metropolitan Rapid Transit Systems (TMRTS). While new lines are opened for revenue service one after the other, the initial route network of the TMRTS has now taken its form. TMRTS has accordingly become the axis of public transport in the Great Taipei Metropolitan Area. For the sake of passengers convenience, meanwhile, TRTC has engaged itself in integrating transport service and operational routes for transfer rides with bus operators. In the future, utilizing all resources available and forming strategic alliance with associated parties, TRTC will explore possible business potentials related to rapid transit. The company is also striving to raise its operational efficiency. It is expected that, well managed and properly diversified, TRTC will be able to create a decent living environment for Taipei citizens in transport, recreation, and art.
